| Absolutely NOTHING happens in Clarksville... or does it? There is no real way to tell; for Clarksvillians, or for anyone else, your only option is to get the Clarksville Paper; no options for audio Interviews, no options for Video Clips, no option for multimedia news of any sort, outside of what can be printed on paper. | There are no good nightspots in Clarksville....at least none that you read about in the Paper, although you might here about it on the radio; don't you think a interview with patrons, audio clips from the bands, video clips of the type of crowd would be interesting? | Nobody Lives in Clarksville...But they do. over 100,000 people live in the Clarksville Metropolitan area (If you'll pardon the expression) who live lives, go to work, have kids, have business's, eat, sleep, etc..do you think all the things that should be told about peoples lives in Clarksville are represented in the current news sources? |
I know, kinda gimmicky, but I wanted to get the idea across...We want to start presenting News to Clarksville, and we want you to help.
Over 7,000 people (at least, it's probably a LOT more) In clarksville have access to the Internet; we get visits to the clarkweb from people in over 70 countries, looking for Clarksville Information; there is a demand for on-line news about the area.
But, we need people to send in the articles; Whats worse, we can't afford to pay anything. Sounds like an ideal job so far, right?
Well, there are some possibilities for earning; it's called advertisements. We propose to accept submissions from locals, on whatever topic, with whatever multimedia support, and place them on the 'net. At the top left corner of every article, there will be a spot for a 1/4 page advertisement which will be filled by the ad of the highest bidder. We will then keep 20% of the amount paid for the advertisement for ourselves, and give 80% to the articles author. We're probably only talking cents, not hundreds of dollars here, but you never can tell; each page will have complete statistics so advertisers can know how popular a article is.
When an article has been on the 'net for 1 week, we will reformat it for low storage space (to take up less room), but leave the advertisement block in. You could still be earning money on a article written at any time in the past!
The only thing we ask, is that you keep it legal; if your article contains adult topics we can put a child block on it, but we would prefer everything stays PG-13 at most. If you steal the news instead of going out and getting it yourself we will have to pull it, and point the injured parties lawyers at YOU.
Sound interesting? If you are interest in either writing for, or advertising In The Clarksville News send e-mail to webmaster@vrhome.com , we'll work out the details.
