I can almost see the
expression on your face...."What now?" you ask.... The Threat to Clarksville now is.......Clarksville. Not all of Clarksville, just one very potent factor: the City Government. The Tornado was devastating, there is no doubt about that; Almost no part of Downtown Cville escaped, including the Historic sections; a lot of historic buildings were damaged, and some were destroyed. But that's NOTHING compared to what Mayor Piper is doing...he's going to raze Downtown down to the ground, to make room for "new growth", I suppose. Have I mentioned lately that Mayor Piper is in the Construction biz? I'm not talking about just the bulldozing of Historic Buildings that were damaged beyond hope of repair...I'm talking about buildings NEXT to buildings that have to come down with no damage whatsoever. We're going to tie in with some of the groups planning on protesting this, offer discussion boards, show rally schedules, etc...But I wanted our readers to get a heads-up. |
