Sam's Greek Cafe

A Relatively new place to eat in Clarksville is Sam's Greek Cafe, in Governors Square Mall, Clarkville, Tennessee. Their Phone Number is (931) 906-8200.

Don't expect anything fancy. Don't expect a lot of choices.

What you can expect is Extremely Courteous service; and, Fantastic food. Me and the PIC stopped by the mall today, and checked 'em out. Friendly, Polite, "Take your time" when we couldn't decide; Lots of smiles.

This has a lot of meaning to me and the PIC; we used to go to a Farmers market in Fresno, Ca which had a little hole in the wall greek resteraunt in it that had THE VERY BEST FOOD IN THE UNIVERSE.
We didn't expect the food to be that good, but it was pretty close; the Marinated Lamb for the Gyros (pronounced "yee-ros", BTW) was very good, and the cucumber sauce (somebody tell me it's real name) was different than any I'd had before in a good way. The Lamb comes on a bed of saffron rice with the plate, and it was also pretty good. The salad served did not come with feta cheese, but thats probably so as to not blow away local taste-buds; Make sure you ask for the house dressing, which has a sweet / sour tang you should like. the Pita bread was a little more puffed up than usual, but not bad. We had Baklava for desert, which was the only dissapointment; apparently they buy it premade from someplace else. Good, but not spectacular.

Why am I going on about a little "food court" type place in a mall? 3 reasons:

1. 1 of 2 places to get Greek Food in town.

2. Really good Food.

3. Really friendly service.

So, the next time you're in the Mall, stop by Sam's Greek Cafe; It's inside the main entrance walkway about halfway down on the left. Tell 'em you saw them on Clarkweb! (they won't know what the heck you are talking about, but everybody needs a little confusion in their lives)
