by Cassiopeia Raine

The Word of God is His Word. His Word, is absolute truth. From the beginning to to end, and the all in between, God's Word reveals His integrity. His Integrity is absolute integrity. The all of what God says is, is.  God's Word is, a forever is. With God there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. God  abides eternal, by  who He is.  Man abides moment by moment, by what he believes.

Our measure of truth, is in direct proportion, to our believing God's absolute truth. There is no way around this. Man's mindfulness of his place, being below that of God's place, would be a good place to start. We are not born in to this world with our minds automatically serving as a holding tank, complete with God's truth. But, we are born with the capacity to believe His truth when it is revealed.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.

This fear is a mindful and heartful reverence, in absolute awe of the Lord  your God.  It is not a mere fleeting recognition of God, nor a point to achieve to, so that you can make up your own doctrine, having accomplished some great feat. This reverence in awe, you must have to begin, in your knowledge of Gods absolute truth. I know of  no formula that precedes this starting point. Before this starting point, lies mans freedom of will.  In the matter concerning  " God is ",  in particular, this freedom of will,  is more than that of one's mere choosing, it is a matter of the one's unconditonal acceptance ( being without excuse). Upon this unconditonal acceptance,  faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

In Proverbs 9:10 above, the word beginning means first, or former. All of our knowledge of God starts, first by being in reverance of Him. It also is a former prerequisite, for all subsequent knowledge of Him that holds true. That we not only hold the Truth, but that it also holds us. This awe of God is not a mere head thing, because it also a heart thing. Therefore our most sincerest reverence of God, will not  allow us to play around with His Word. We will  stand on it and protect it as a most valued treasure because it is His Word. His Word is how He has revealed His thoughts, His will, and Who He is and what He is about and about His Son, whose life was given for our sins. Therefore the Word is so very important to us that not one jot or tittle of it  should be mishandeled in the slightest at our hands, out of irreverence, or ignorance.

How may we understand this fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of our God?

Proverbs 2:1-5:

My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;  2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;   3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;  4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

Receive, hide, incline, apply, cry, lift, seek and search : these are ours to do: then we will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

This is a verse showing a drive, a striving for the knowledge of God. Not a verse that connotes  a deliberating over Gods Word, or a  tossing of it aside, or not paying attention to it, or a compromising of it, or a yawning over,  or a mumbling under your breath about, or wherever the truth is, letting it stay there; and then  in this "mode" proclaiming an understanding of the fear of the Lord and a bluffing of having found His knowledge?

Nor is His knowledge found in compilations of nice sayings, in principallizing everything, in the credo be-attitudes, or in rules and regulations, daily devotionals, and all the wonderful "testimonies" springing forth, with  the cliche‘ing of what should be the heartful, "I love the Lord" advertisements, as if our love for Him does Him some sort of favor. Religion loves to conjure up self-made "have to do's",  the more of them you have, the more religious you are. It just "feels" so good.

All these things, are attractive to those who want to be self -righteous, instead of standing in beleiving acceptance of the righteousness which is by Jesus Christ. For some reason needing proof of it, over and above that which the validity of Word declares it is. Religion is just that, man made. Christianity is what God has done for us through His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ.  The Pharisees looked and sounded good too, there was a whole sect of them, and they had respect. Yet  Jesus Christ spoke, that their hearts, were far from God. So nice isn't necessarily nice.

Matthew 15:7-9  7Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you saying,  8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Mans history, not only secular but also biblical, is known for doing just that, whatever it is that he wants to do, as he sees fit.  Man has, (in a grossly inordinate amount of occasions), seen fit to turn his back on God,  ignoring Gods ways, and instructions, to go in a different way, a way plotted out with his own directions. Not only so but, man seizes these occasions, to claim that his ways, are God's ways. All in the name of God, and for His sake.

But Gods Word states that His thoughts are above mans thoughts, and His ways above that of mans ways. Isaiah 55:8,9  The Way, that God made for us  is through the Lord Jesus Christ, through the things that He has accomplished for us. He is the way the truth and the life, no man will come to the Father but by Him. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him,  I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ becomes a living practicality by living by the spirit, by believing and walking out in it. The natural man, one who believes not, does not have this living practice, of receiving spiritual things. 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God:  for they are foolishness unto Him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Compared to that which those, who believe, are able to  receive. 1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor Ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.

There are many places to turn, to hear about, the "oh so many of the ways" of God's  way, declared by the "oh so many of the sects" out there, all saying  that they have the truth, and yet disagree with other's straight out, who say that  they are the ones with  the truth. Yet both have the same God, the same Lord Jesus Christ, and for the most part the same written Word. Who's right, who cares? How is it, that we ourselves, can get on with our believing and acting on God's Word, while we are playing a ennie-meenie-minny-moe game, endeavoring to figure out what others are believing, or not believing of the Truth?

Does this give us the reason to not seek, because we do not know where to go, who to believe, being that the entire state of christianity, in the many different  mainstreams of testimony, are in their own separate little worlds, diversified, classified,  and hypnotized?  Do they, any of them, or even we ourselves, make the Truth of God's Word any less true, because of our disbelief or by others disrespecting and disregarding the way in which they determine, what the truth is?

Should we determine where the truth is according to the numbers? according to stage performances? by how yuppie-keen the people look, or by how nice it is that they smile? or by how sincere they may sound? Are any of these prerequisites to truth?  I know for one, Gods man Jeremiah wouldn't have fit into these descriptions. Yet God chose him to represent Him in speaking the truth to those people then. (Which the people readily accepted and followed? No! This being God's man, you would think that this would then be apparent, and without a doubt, in clear view of the peoples perceptibility. It was not. Instead, the masses were fervent to believe their own doctrines and the doctrine of  false prophets, ( they chose).

God is not limited, to that which man defines Him as, or by what man defines God's Truth to be Our searching for the Truth, must begin with our awe of Him, and from there we are to search the scriptures holding this same awe of Him throughout our search.  Gods Word has declared about His Word, that He magnified It above all of His name Psalms 138:2b. Our utmost respect therefore needs be given to The Words own Truth and Inherent Accuracy, in our learning, and in our  holding it forth. It is His Word, not ours to maneuver about as we see fit.

We then are to be workman of His word, to line up our beliefs with what His Word declares. All of God's truth will fit together, it will work, it will not fail, and still can be found out, believed, acted upon, practiced and spoken.   Proverbs 2:1-5 is as true today, for you and I, as it was the first time it was inspired to be written down. Our path is to begin in awe of our God, and to continue in the same as we strive for an understanding of the fear of the Lord, and to progress in the understanding and knowledge of Him.

When all is said and done, and even when we think that we have everything  all figured out, it still will be God's Word, that holds It's own, for it is held up by God, the Almighty One.

It is God's Word
