I think I might be in trouble on
this one. The last time I got into a game this much, it was Civ2; before that,
it was MOM, and before that Railroad Tycoon. In other words, their may be a
touch of fanaticism approaching in which I will start writing all sorts of code,
mods, hacks, etc. Or maybe just play the game a whole lot. Anyway, I set
up a forum to talk about a ROT-CSA mod I'm seriously thinking about.
Janes Fleet Command - I really like
this game; actually, I really like Harpoon II, but that can NOT be made to run
on win2k, and runs "iffy" on win9x systems, so this is the next best
thing. With the patches, it's actually almost as good.
BTW, if anyone has a fix for the "It crashes in Win2k just as things start
to get good" bug, let me know.

Masters of Orion 2 - The greatest
space strategy game to date. there are a lot of race editors, cheats, etc for
MOO2, but I think it's really a testament to the games playability that I've
never felt compelled to download any of them, just the Last Patch:

Masters
of Magic (MOM) for download; it's available at all the abandonware sites, will
run just fine on win9x machines. The Best turn-based fantasy strategy game to
date, and just possibly the best turn based strategy game period.
HARDWAR - A little while back I was
a beta tester for a game called Space, above and below (or something like that).
I was always sort of wondering why I was dissatisfied with it; I just this year
found out that the 1998 game HARDWAR was the reason why. Check out my
HARDWAR page and you might see why as well.
VICTORIA:
Empire Under the Sun - If you like Crusader Kings, Hearts of iron, Europa
Universalis II, then you will probably like Victoria; it's the same engine, but
focus is really on economics. If you have a Rose's department store near to
where you live, you can pick up Victoria for $5.00.

The Movies:
The Movies from lionhead is electronic crack, pure and simple; to break it down,
it's the sims 2 combined with Movie Studio tycoon, and it allows you to make
something resembling machima movies.
The Movies has a couple of things going against it; one, googling for mods and
patches is damned near impossible...go ahead, try it. For another, there just
aren't as many people playing it as there should be; it's really simple to mod,
simpler than the sims 2, but almost no one is doing it, which is a shame.
I probably shouldn't post other peoples mods, but on the off chance you find
your way via search engine....
