Wolff Outlines give this man as child of John Jack & Nancy McNutt Ancestry.com gives death place as Lamar Co, TX GenServ File EVAP6JA submitted by Lisa Evans, 745 Patricia, Sheran, TX 75090,
The exact date of Thomas Jack's death is not known. He was living in early 1876 and had died prior to June 1880 as the 1880 census of Lamar Co., TX indicated that his wife Sarah and child Rachel were living with the Taswell P.J. Creed family. He is believed to be buried in an old abandoned cemetery known as the "Old Lee Cemetery", located in a pasture some 4 miles SW of Roxton, TX. per Hattie Pinson paper dated 31 March 1991 given to Lisa Evans.
Thomas P. Jack was a leather manufacterer (lot 6, Jack's Alley, Washington, Rhea Co., TN). In 1850, the Rhea Co., TN Dist. 7, p. 624 Family 576 assessed his real estate valued at $1800. In 1870 his real estate holdings were valued at $100 & personal property at $500. In the 1860 Census of Lamar Co., TX, p. 18, he is shown in dwelling #14. He removed to TX between the births of Virginia & Julia & founded the First Methodist Church in Delta, TX.
