In honor of the concept of this whole thing, I'm going to keep using the outdated, but more accurate, Freenet logo.
If I get some more positive feedback on this, I'll go ahead and go full tilt and do a CVS, project site, and all that. Maybe even give it a neat name, like "Freenet Classic" or something like that.
Anyway, here is my latest release of Freenet, which is just freenet 0.5, Build 5106, Release alpha.
Freenet 5108
JAR
(to run Freenet 5108, just shut down your freenet node, rename
this to freenet.jar, and use it to replace the 5105-5107 jar in your current
freenet directory)
Download, extract it, do what the readme.txt says.
You are also going to want FROST; Freenet without FROST is sort of boring. it's
a lite duty file-sharing system, but mainly a very USENET like Discussion system
For Serious File Sharing you are going to want FUQID.
The Purpose of this is to have a single archive that can be spread around or hosted anywhere or handed to a buddy that will not require you to connect to a web site to get updates or complete your install; you won't leave a web trail from this one.
I would REALLY APPRECIATE IT if someone would test this for me; let me know about any problems by e-mail
