Services Provided | Who can join ICAPO? Anyone who can help.
We have several different levels of membership; The Highest level of membership is given to Law Enforcement Officers / agencies who have agreed to access the data provided for the sole purpose of preventing child abuse. A greatly lower level of access is available to those Officers / Agencies who feel they cannot exclude themselves from the pursuit of other crimes.
But you do NOT have to be a Law Officer to be a member of ICAPO; we actually don't care what you are, be it prostitute, drug dealer, used car salesman, Pornographer, etc; the important thing is that you want to do something to help prevent the abuse of children.
Upon joining, you will be given a Username & Password which will enable you to access the main ICAPO web server, which contains information appropriate to your level of membership. Any user actual identities and any server log information that might give a clue to your identity is held strictly confidential; the maintainer of the site has agreed to go to jail before any privileged information will be divulged.
You may apply for the lowest level of membership online; any higher level of membership requires you to supply us with a telephone fax number so we can send you the appropriate forms and agreements.
Remember, There are NO Fee's of any kind associated with ICAPO; we may provide a means for members to use us as a information brokerage as well in the future.

Currently, we are providing for higher level access members:
Instructional information describing what the various Internet Areas are, and how to access them; this presently includes Usenet (newsgroups), IRC (chat), and Misc. area's.
Links to free tools and files necessary to access out-of-the-way corners of the internet.
A database of current offenders, and information known about them.
Information on how to make use of any evidence gathered.
Listings of individuals / groups who are willing to volunteer help.
In the future, as the means become available, we hope to offer:

access to a 90-day archive of Usenet posts
further general resources.
