Initial Base Rating Guidelines:

  • Health: min. 40 points, max 70 points
  • Precision: min. 20 points, max 50 points
  • Speed: min. 8 points, max 12 points

Random Increase Dice:

  • Health: add a roll of 1d20 to the rating
  • Precision: add a roll of 1d10+6 to the rating
  • Speed: add a roll of 1d6 half-points to the rating

Excluded Abilities:

  • Chivalry

Restricted Abilities:

  • Nomadic
  • Savagery
  • Psychogenics (perhaps most magical studies)

Mandatory Abilities:

  • Rustic Ability at 50% of Health
  • Scrutiny Ability at 60% of Precision (I chose scrutiny because Tolkien's hobbits always seemed to find the secret passages and magical rings in situations with poor lighting)
  • Stealth Ability at 70% of Precision

Chosen Abilities:

  • First Ability at 100% of Base Rating
  • Second Ability at 80% of Base Rating

Racial Capacities and Handicaps:

  1. Hobbits recuperate Health thrice as fast as normal humans.
  2. Hobbits see in total darkness as if illumination were equal to dim twilight.
  3. Hobbits are careful folk and usually avoid taking undue risk.
  4. Hobbits are resistant to magical effects (both good and bad). Extraordinary powers are usually 50% as effective when Hobbits are targeted.
